Much better price than Hmart. Traffics was light but the produce were fresh. Prep food was decent with lots of options.

The least crowded of the newer Asian markets. They're a little more out of the way and not as trendy and fun to shop in as H Mart but there isn't the same congestion and chaos here. Sometimes H Mart feels like it was purposefully designed to have that chaos in mind, like you're meant to get overwhelmed by the sheer amount and variety of goods they offer, to meander through their tighter layout to discover something. Adds to the bustling atmosphere. Kind of like Costco and Trader Joe's. You're always going to leave buying something you never intended to. H Mart tends to cost more than the other Asian markets and caters more towards the youth. Lotte has the cleanliness of H Mart with nearly as much ethnic goods as them, if not more in the South and Southeast Asian department. Their overall design and layout is simpler so it's easier and faster to find what you need. They have pretty consistent sales to boot. Peace and quiet, great for elders and families. Lotte remains to be the most balanced and the IDEAL in terms of shopping experience, variety, quality, and value of all of the Asian markets. Go to the back past 6pm for 30-50% off discounted prepared food. I personally find some of their items, like kimbap, to be better than H Mart's. Food court is also significantly less busy than H Mart's.

LOVE their produce! I always pick up sushi and kimbap. I was so excited to see onigiri style kimbap this time! I got the tuna and the beef bulgogi onigiri style kimbap and they were amazing. They have a little bakery section in the front near the food court that has such a great selection. It reminds me of Paris Baguette a little bit. Don't skip out on the food court! They have tons of different options and mochi ring is to die for! My fav is the black sesame one!!! Close second is the matcha donut. The corndogs are so good too. I get the hot Cheeto's half and half one and I use the honey mustard or the cheese sauce. When they ask if you want sugar on your corndog, say yes! It sounds weird but it's the best. If you're not vegetarian get half hotdog/ half cheese. It's so yum! Definitely my favorite Asian market. It's mainly Korean foods, but for sure there are lots of different foods from other Asian countries.

Not quite as large a selection of goods as H-Mart. Definitely less hectic, especially in the parking lot. I noticed good prices on produce but packaged goods - sauces, seasonings, snacks - seemed higher. There is a food court all the way at the end of the store. The food items on offer there didn't blow me away, but they do have a mochi donut shop which is a nice get.

Best Korean market that I've been to in the US, and that includes Korean markets in L.A, and NYC. The place is clean and the isles are spacious -- this is not a tightly packed city market. Lots of good prepared foods. Produce section is well maintained. Seafood seems fresh. Food court is pretty amazing with a variety of tasty shops. Overall great market that has an upscale feel.

Great Asian styled grocery market with an extensive fresh seafood selection. Was truly impressed with the amount of live lobsters and specialty fish in tanks. Their selection of international teas and coffee was equally impressive. What was even more impressive was their fresh fruits and veggies section. From purple cauliflower to Asian apples , I was in veggie fruit heaven. On the left side of the store they had some specialty restaurants with mochi stores and Asian bakery with individually wrapped baked goods. Nice to find an amazing local Asian grocery store gem while traveling . Service: Excellent. Very friendly. Parking: Ample.Walked there early in am and plenty of parking. Availability: Able to find everything needed Return: Absolutely when return to NJ.

Lotte Plaza Market is ....... A less frantic, expensive and cluttered H Mart. I love H Mart with its over stuffed and over flowing shelves piled high with best of everthing Korean but I also fell in love with Lotte with it's ample parking, wide aisles, freshly made Ban Chans and..... their prices. The room to breathe as you stroll through their well organized retail floor, wet market and extensive refridgerated sections are indeed a pleasure to shop and I could have spent hours browsing each aisle. Now the pluses and minuses...... Square footage is about the same as H Mart but feels larger which makes for a more leisurely and comfortable shopping experience. Their butcher and meat departments are huge with just about every conceivable cut featured both fresh and frozen.{ packages of chicken necks and butts... I love chicken necks} Prices are very reasonable as compared to the Big H. The Freshly made banchans and preseasoned meats selections is larger and wider ranging than any Korean grocery I've been to. Now the minuses..... Fruit and vegetable selection is somewhat lacking and unmaintained with many overripe fruits and old greens but their root vegetables selection was extensive. Fish selection is not as extensive as H Mart even if it was less expensive for most varities.I could not find any marinated crabs in the banchan section. Now here is the biggest minus..... Their food court is a joke. Tucked all the way on the far end of the sales floor the entrance appears to be a dark alley littered with old shelves, mop buckets and out of date flyers. Half of it's stalls is being used as overflowing storage with basically a way expensive Korean Chicken joint,a rice bowl place that appears to be put together and staffed by gruff old men wearing greasy wifebeaters and a bubble tea place. The bakery was unstaffed with what appeared to be last week's pastries being sparsley displayed. Tables and chairs were mismatched and all over the place, the floors had not been mopped since last week and it was appearant that what cleaning was to be done had to be done by the disinterested stall owners. No wonder there was so many vacant stalls...... I can't wait to shop Lotte again in the future but will have to head to H Mart food court to have lunch.....
